Baseball is in the air!

Anthony is at baseball tryouts today. He took a year off but discovered that he really missed it. I am excited because the twins are finally old enough to be on their own so I can actually sit down and watch his games in peace!

Thankfully, the sun is out and the rain has gone home. Tryouts are outside for 4 hours!

When it rains, it pours!

Well, the rain is back. We all knew it was coming, but hoping it wouldn't. Sigh. On the other hand, the rain keeps me cool on my runs. Cup half full, right?

Speaking of rain, it has been raining misfortune on our things. The twins' computer got a virus and is now a paperweight. The dishwasher is leaking and will need to be replaced. The Honda needed 2 new tires and the dog ate Brian's 30 year old, perfectly worn in baseball glove. When things all go wrong, it reminds me that God is always faithful. He won't break and need to be replaced. Cup overflowing!

Sunny in Oregon

It has been really nice outside the last few days. The boys are out playing basketball and riding their bikes down to the park. I even had to pull the sunglasses out from the bottom of the purse. It has been delightful!

Uncle Brad was here for the week. The boys really love it when he visits. The four of them played Risk for hours on end. It was a good week!

Me and my sister through the years

My sister and her family are moving to Texas. I have posted about it before, but it wasn't a reality until they stopped to visit on their way down. Not a whole lot is going to change for us. We were only able to see each other a couple times a year. We both have 3 kids and husbands with demanding jobs, so it was hard to get away. We stay close through phone calls, emails, and texts. However, it was reassuring that she was a short drive away if need be. Dallas is just so far away!!

Melanie, my Dad, Charlotte, Madison, and Connor spent Tuesday night with us. Melanie and I got to spend some sister time together. We went out to dinner and had some good laughs. We watched Lost together. We tried to explain to my Dad why a show about an airplane pulled out of the sky by a large magnet was really a good show. We lost that argument! We stayed up late talking and laughing. Morning came and they had to leave. Wednesday = sadness

In honor of her move, here are pictures of us through the years. (I'm the older one!) Growing up, I never thought she would grow up to be one of my best friends. What a precious gift!

Sunshine

There is nothing like the cessation of rain to bring every Oregonian and their brother outside. I even saw a family playing croquet in their front yard!

I'm Lost

Ok, so THAT was confusing. Answers were not forthcoming! The awesome thing though was this year I have texting on my phone. Every commercial my sister and I texted each other with our confused thoughts. With our very, very, confused thoughts. Well, there's always next week!

Get Lost

LOST is on tonight!!!! I am so excited! I have been a die hard fan of Lost since it first came on. I remember it clearly. It used to be on Wednesdays because Brian was always gone at youth group and I made sure to get the boys to bed before 8:00 so I could get some "adult" time. It provided a great escape. I have always been morbidly obsessed with plane crashes, so this was a perfect show for me. Later on, my sister and I would call each other after an episode and discuss it amongst ourselves. I didn't need an excuse to call my sister but whatever was going on in life I could count on those phone calls.

Now we are embarking on the final season and it feels bittersweet to me. It seems stupid to say that about a tv show but there are so many good memories associated with it. I have my ice cream and popcorn all ready to go. Let the answers begin!
